The Many Faces of Dementia
Dr. Ronald Hamdy, MD, FRCP, FACP is a Geriatric Medicine Specialist in Johnson City, TN. Dementia care has always been one of his key areas of interest. Dr. Hamdy has published four medical books as well as caregiving resources, working to bring dementia education to his peers and the community as a whole. Dr. Hamdy provides a wealth of practical information about the effects of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, offers detailed descriptions of the stages of the disease, the options for treatment, and the effects of other mental and physical characteristics upon the expressions of dementia.
Living in the Moment: Purpose, Presence, Perspective
Karen Stobbe has a passion for teaching innovative and successful caregiving strategies to help individuals with dementia live in the moment. She is co-developer of the “Hand in Hand” video that was produced by CMS and is distributed to every nursing facility in the country. Her Father and Mother are her inspirations for so desperately wanting to educate the world by bringing her unique perspective to the audience.

Objective: The purpose of Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc.'s Caregiver Training series is to educate professional and family caregivers on Alzheimer's disease and give useful information concerning dementia care. After completing the training, the participant should have:
- A better understanding of the disease, its process and available treatments.
- Practical tips for caring for the individual with dementia.
- Tools for caregiver stress management.
Cost: The full-day training will include all handouts as well as lunch. Conference fees are $25 for family care partners and $45 for professional care partners. Professional fee includes CEUs for administrators of residential homes for the aged as well as assisted living facility administrators, social workers, and nurses.
On site respite will be provided, at no cost, day of event. You must call to register so we can provide adequate coverage.
